That's missing the forest for the trees, if I may use the expression :-)
It's impossible /not/ to see a pattern when the vast majority of Apple's own
apps, utilities and OS have poor-to-zero AS support, rev after rev. It's a
systemic, company-wide problem, not wholly explainable by individual teams.
Apple's support and evangelizing on AS approaches that of the most legendary
of all stealth Apple products, WebObjects. Unlike WO, though, AS could
actually sell a lot of machines today if it were properly supported and
evangelized.
It seems to me that Apple management doesn't think so. I'd love to know why.
Do they know something we don't?
