Having had trouble figuring out how to get Entourage to generate
out-of-office autoreplies just before I left, I came back at the end of the
week to discover that I've clogged everyone's inbox with an endless supply
of such messages. Please accept my apologies for that.
Obviously, my failure to adhere to list etiquette rules is no one's fault
but my own. Operating on the assumption that the best way to avoid repeating
a mistake is to learn from it (shocking concept!), I have some questions:
1. Now that I've turned off the Entourage settings that have plagued
everyone all week, I've reviewed everything on or linked to
http://www.lists.apple.com/rules.shtml in search of a NOMAIL command. Not
finding one, I assume that the best approach is to unsubscribe for the
duration of a vacation & resubscribe on my return, yes/no?
2. Are there any Entourage experts out there who can tell me how to set up
an out-of-office autoreply message that is sent the first time someone sends
message to me, a la Outlook? (This is really a separate subject in a sense,
although the lack of such a feature compounded the error dramatically, as
you all know.)
Again, I'm sorry about this whole mess.
Ethan
