program linking between X and 9

I have succeeded, from a Mac OS X machine, in mounting a remote machine
doing file sharing in X, and in mounting a remote machine doing file
sharing in 9 over IP, and in mounting a remote machine doing file sharing
in 9 over AppleTalk.
I have succeeded in giving commands to the Finder of a remote machine
doing Remote Events in X.
But I cannot, from a Mac OS X machine, give commands to the Finder of a
remote machine doing Program Linking in 9. I've tried with and without IP
on that machine. I've twiddled every setting I can think of. The X machine
doesn't even list the 9 machine when I look for eppc server. Is this
broken? Thx - m.
