Incidentally, Apple announced Mac OS X in May 1998 and promised to deliver
it by fall 1999. It was previewed in January 2000 and finally shipped in
March 2001. So it's over 3 years old, by one account.

Given the fact that Jobs called it the OS for the next decade, it ain't a
toddler. It appears to be 1/3 the way to its, ahem, grave. (How's that for a
spin? :-)

More to the point, at this toddler's house inter-app scripting has been kept
in the cellar. It would need major flooding to get AppleScript to the first
floor. :-)
