I've just found by accident another little Eudora trick: if you
select one message and hold down the Option key in the subject
column you get a thread sort while keeping everything in date order.
I've been using Eudora (on and off) for 14 years and I'm still
discovering this and that.
This has been possible since at least version 3.1. You can also sort
messages in reverse order by option clicking the column headers in
the summary or have mail sorted by incoming order by deselecting all
headers (click the selected header). This is most useful if you are
collecting mail from a server that may hold old mail for you which,
if you had the summary sorted in date order, you could easily miss.
It happened to me yesterday.
You can also sort my multiple criteria by using the shift key.
During that fourteen years the hidden depths of Eudora have got
deeper and deeper, and people who don't know Eudora well have seen
about 1% of its power. With other mailers, what you see is what you
get and there's nought more to them however fancy they look.
