Wait, I forgot! There's no workaround for Finder itself, but depending
on what you're doing, you may be able to use System Events instead.
Its Disk-Folder-File Suite has much of the same terminology, and it
uses older synchronous APIs, so you shouldn't have any "missing value"
trouble. The modification date is definitely there.
