Apologies to Peter and anybody else on the list who may have got the
impression that I'm able to exploit other people's Macs using Missing
Link
and URL redirection.
My tongue was firmly in my cheek when I typed the sentence quoted
above.
But the bit about the URL stuff does work:

See how sorry I am?
And see how easy it is to demonstrate a script to list members -
providing
they're using Panther of course...
Hmm, actually that got me a bit pissed off.
I was working on a script at the time. I had made some major changes
to it when I went back to my e-mail to check something. While I was
there I saw your e-mail, clicked on the url to see what it was about
and your script appeared in Script Editor. Annoyed at the pop-up I
closed it, finished what I was doing in Mail and then went back to
Script Editor to continue my work.
However, the damned auto-open had used my already open script window to
display the script!! When I closed the window I didn't realize that it
had typed over my already open script.
So I ended up losing a good 1/2 hour of work to a inane little script
opened by a "feature" that is nothing but annoying. Yeah my dumbass
fault for not saving but that's beside the point. The "auto-open a
script when you click a e-mail" is worse than annoying, it is
destructive.
So now I've learned my lesson and now I'm blocking everything from that
domain that you linked to.
