In Panther, there is a "create archive" command in the File menu; it

I ran across this. It leads me to a question. Script Debugger (as
well as Script Editor) have in them a Record button. How does this
work? I had thought that you'd just hit record then click/type/whatever
to get the actions you just did recorded into a script. This doesn't
seem to be how it works. So...

How does the record (preferably in Script Debugger) work?

Yep, that's how it works. The only problem is it doesn't work so well! :-(

Don't count on the record feature to be of much use, it very rarely is useful. A lot of applications just aren't recordable and those that are have some large gaps in what is recordable.
