It's because Win2K, and Win2003K server both use an old version of AFP that
doesn't allow for > 31 character filenames.

There's not many solutions if you wish to continue using AFP:

1) Get a third party AFP server for Windows that is using a current version
of AFP

2) Stuff/Zip everything and use 31 - character file names.

Depending on your client OS's, you can use SMB and still maintain resource
forks.
