The issue is not adding the info; that is easy enough to do.
I don't want to have to write a whole new user interface that is
capable of receiving anniversary dates or name suffixes, or any of the
other potential attributes. This has already been done very nicely in
Address Book.app. Furthermore, I believe it will be easier for users
to manage their Address Book entries in an environment that is familiar
to them, rather than have to figure out how to do the same thing in a
completely different way.

Well, I have a Cocoa application that has Address Book entries in a
table. I'd like to have the user able to double-click on one of
these table items and open the Address Book with that specific person
selected. This way I can use the Address Book to get more detailed
information and set information, rather than rewrite all of this
functionality myself.
Why not get the information directly from Address book and have the
script place it in the data base? Similarly, why not have the script
add the information directly to the address book?
