Phil,
It could be a possibility that the new thing, UI Actions, from PreFab Software could be the right thing. If I understand it right, it is developed to trigger script at certain events in other applications. I haven't tested it at all yet and it is a new public prerelease. Check www.prefab.com/uiactions.

Would be good to hear from your first experience with it.

Hi, all.

I have a script that duplicates iTunes's database to a mounted FW drive and would like to alter it so that everytime iTunes quits it runs on quit.

Any help appreciated. Script follows:

tell application "Finder"
duplicate (file "iTunes 4 Music Library" of folder "iTunes" of folder ¬
"Music" of folder "phil" of folder "Users" of startup disk) ¬
to disk "Backup" with replacing
activate
(display dialog "Backup Successful!" buttons "Cool!")
end tell

Thanks,

Regards,

Phil (a cc would be appreciated. Am on digest).
