These keyboard shortcuts appear to be wired into the system at a
level where GUI Scripting and the accessibility API on which it is
based cannot reach them.
This isn't surprising, since control of these assistive features of
Mac OS X are supposed to work whether or not System Preferences is
running.
Thank you for replying, and reinforcing what I thought was the reason
for my failed attempts.
Being able to do such system level automations would be a great
benefit - especially for those writing code to assist the disabled,
and others.
Perhaps, such ability may be one of a future 'MacOS X' release's new
'150 features' - after the annual $130.00 OS subscription.
