  • Thread-topic: iBooks and AirPort/Cisco login

Hello,

I have some new iBook G4s running 10.3.5 and using AirPort Extreme cards.  I also have a WPA Enterprise network using Cisco access points.  A manual login always works and when the computers sleep, they remember the network and usually only require the user name and password again to relog into the network.  When they are shut down, especially over night, they forget all their settings and have to be manually set up.

The problem is that these are distributed to students who don’t necessarily use Macs, and thus don’t know to even open the AirPort dialog to log in.  I’m hoping that someone out here has come up with a solution to this.  Keychain does NOT work for us, for when we add this login to the keychain, it will NEVER log in and always throws errors.

The best solution would be auto login scripts of some form.  The next best solution would be a clickable icon on the desk top that would do it.  The last but workable solution would be to at least force the AirPort dialog open.

Any suggestions?  My user in charge of these iBooks is about to go Windows on me. J
