do recall making multiple windows without that sort of asinine
approach. "make new window" seems like a no brainer to me. "do
script" as means to make a new window is thoroughly stupid.

The fact that "do script" makes a new window by default is actually
fairly reasonable.
Apropos of other comments made earlier in this thread, it seems to
me that it could be a source of annoyance when scripting. I still
fail to see how it's reasonable.
The fact that it's the *only* way to make a new window is not.
There is a bug filed on this.
That's good. It also doesn't respect the difference between "launch"
and "run" (that is, it opens a window in both cases).
