It turned out to be nothing that a reboot couldn't fix. I don't understand this kind of thing, but as long as it's working now I guess I can pretend it never happened (and it failed consistently before the reboot, several times).

Not really, David. URL Access Scripting works fine for me (OS 9.1 / AS 1.8.3) using "download <url> to file <file path>".


Are you actually testing on the OS 9 machine, or in Classic mode?
