Nice rebuttal. But in all the sound and fury you missed a valid point.
If mv and cp show the same copy problems as the Finder, which, by your own
words, they do:
" If I need to copy VOB files I keep getting permission errors and then
the files start disappearing from the GUI. I can still see them from
the shell, but even cp or mv won't move the data from DVD to disk."
Then it's not a *Finder* issue at all. Note, that was taken from your
original post. So in the same post where you're wondering what's wrong with
the Finder, you point out the test that shows that while the problem shows
up in the finder, it exists outside of the Finder, ergo, IT'S NOT A FINDER
PROBLEM.
It's somewhere else in the OS. I'm also COMPLETELY at a loss as to how this
ties in at all to AppleScript.
