I don't know that everyone does, but because this is an AppleScript list,
and because the Finder is a poster boy for the "Do as I say, not as I do"
mentality for Apple's scripting support, it deserves pretty well all it gets
around here.

The people behind it might be the finest on earth, and they might be driven
by the most short-sighted managers in Cupertino, but whatever the reason,
its record with scripting is, well, pathetic.

Have a look at the dictionary: there's actually a command that includes the
words "(NOT AVAILABLE)" in the command itself. When was the last release
where the position property actually meant something? Who can keep track of
which versions have "duplicate ... with replacing" broken and which have
"move ... with replacing" broken? Then there are the workarounds required to
get a list of aliases. The current version of recording is pretty
entertaining, too.

And guess where so many newcomers decide to dabble in scripting first?

Every time a new OS release is imminent, you can hear people around here
holding their breath, wondering which of their scripts are going to break
this time.

Sadly, it's that bad.
