If I need to copy VOB files I keep getting permission errors and

disk.
First, mv from one volume to another calls cp. It is impossible by
definition to move a file from one volume to another. It's always
copy and delete. Second, what's the failing of these tools have to do
with the Finder?
I've got no problem with *copy protection* but having files
disappear from the Finder windows indicates some pretty pathetic
programming from Apple.
I don't quite understand why everyone likes to use the Finder as a
punching bag. Every programmer on the Finder team I've met, talked
to, or emailed has been extremely competent. The problems that I do
see can be explained by someone on high (like a manager) assigning a
new feature to the Finder and "making" the team add it to the Finder
before the API itself exists in OS X. This leads to potentially buggy
implementations as the finder may not be "compatible" with adding a
particular feature, or the Finder team just might not have enough
resources to implement the features "ordered" and fix the bugs that
users request.
The funny thing about all this, is I've actually had dreams (as in
when I was sleeping) that I was offered a job on the Finder team. But
then again, Phil Schiller was also in a thong. So take that as you
will..
