Yeah... death to those who top post.
Oh... wait.
Seriously... I prefer top posting a lot of the time. In a context of
single issue posting that doesn't call for addressing individual items,
it is easier to read the post if it is ready-to-hand at the top of the
email. It is more like following a conversation as the emails come in.
The whole desire for bottom posting seems to me to be for those who
only chime in on a conversation and want the whole context laid out for
them first. This particularly is the case when searching the Archives.
The desire for bottom posting seems to be an emphasis on "Let's keep
every email in good form so that the Archives are a good and useful
tool." But, while we are "creating a resource" as a byproduct of this
elist, the primary function it seems to me is a forum of communication
where we are talking about Applescript.
In the least, it is a matter of preference, probably dependent on one's
usage of the list. Irregardless of protocol or RFC, to claim that one
is inherently correct is narcissism.

I thought that "death to top-posting scum" was one of Apple's list

You mean its (or it was) the responsibility of the subscribers to
ensure that top-posters were put to death ?
I like it. How many did we get ? (I got a duck (IYSWIM), but I didn't
know it was open season.)
