Folder Action Script question

Is there a folder action script [standard on os x] that will launch a file upon a Volume mount ?

I have a dmg file which automatically mounts its volume when downloaded to the user's desktop
This Volume contains a single applescript application...newly created :)
I would like the applescript app too launch too....as it is one less step for the user

can I do this without adding another script to my dmg file..or do I need to write a small folder action script and include it in the Volume?

many thanks as I am almost done :)
g
