I stumbled across this neat little app the other day, and it's proven to be a really useful addition to some of my scripts. It allows you to create "bezel"-style notifications from Apple- or shell scripts, with plenty of options and even the ability to use custom icons.

So far, I'm using it as a rule action in Mail to display incoming messages, and along with MenuMaster to make a global iTunes controller.
