This one work here, tried with iCal's "Open file" function :
tell application "Mail" set fetch interval to 60 end tell
Same thing, except that I have a conditional, based on the current time, to decide the value to switch it to.
I moved the file from the user's mail script's folder to the root level's mail script folder, and it's now working from the script menu. At ten PM, I'll find out whether it works from being triggered by iCal.
