Thanks so much! I'm not sure why I missed that one.

Keeping other calendars visible is OK. Do you know how to show a calendar given its UID? I tried many things and couldn't figure that out.

Yes -

tell application "iCal"
     view calendar at (current date) + 1 * days -- tomorrow
end tell

- and no. Don't know how to hide calendars in Tiger iCal.
