My apologies, in my limited search "Zoomed" was only a "Finder" dictionary item.

Works for me - you'll have to be more specific about which
application it's not working in. I just tested it against Mail and
it was fine...

This fails in Tiger (10.4.1) any work around?

set zoomed to (not (zoomed))

AFAICT, you can't change the zoomed state of windows by using a zoomed-type command, you can only ascertain whether they're resizable, zoomable, zoomed, zoomed full size, or collapsed (they all have r/o boolean values). Once you find out those values, then you use System Events to click the appropriate menu bar item/button for the process (zoom or minimize) if it exists.

In case there is some confusion, the above command has worked for a long time prior to Tiger.
