By the time the reports of not finding anything make it here, I'd be
willing to bet they are frequently infected with at least a little of
the hyperbole of frustration.
Couple of points:
1. The ASLG hasn't been revised since 1999, AS v. 1.3.?. That can
lead some to believe it's out of date.
2. The first link on the AppleScript Resources page, which you noted,
is broken. It purportedly leads to examples and useful handlers
("Essential Sub-routines"). It is presumably the first link because
it is deemed a good starting point. Pity it's inaccessible.
Yes, a little well-practiced web searching will go a long way. There
is indeed good content to be found.
But, the website could use work, too.
