Has anyone successfully defined an AS applet as an internet helper protocol in Tiger?

I've changed the creator code and the CFBundleSignature to my own 4 character code and used MoreInternet to set a custom protocol to the script. I know this used to work in 10.3.9. Our company has workflows built around it.

For what it is worth, the "smile://" protocol still works in Tiger, and I think it works after steps like you describe.

Maybe you may want to check how Smile achieves that ...
