  • Thread-topic: Script to Map an LPR Printer?

Hi all,

I've been scouring the Net for an AppleScript that I can use for the Macs I support, but so far I've had no luck outside of making an AppleScript that calls a Terminal shell script.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I'd like to be able to create a series of AppleScripts that I can include on a Web page that my users can use that, when clicked, will automatically connect them to an LPR printer that's hosted on our Windows print server. I've gotten the Terminal script to work fine, but it is limited to only using CUPS drivers as far as I can tell.

Is there any way that I could use AppleScript technology to map LPR printers using OS X's drivers?

Thanks!

Jason
