Is there a clean and efficient way to detect track changes in
iTunes from AppleScript? I just want to know when the track

Do you think that tracking a track change could boil down to
tracking the changes in "iTunes Music Library.xml"?
Well to do that wouldn't we need to poll the file anyway, or can we
listen for changes to a file with AppleScript? I'm pretty new to Mac
OS and AppleScript.
In short, yes probably this is true, but I'm not sure it offers many
benefits over polling itunes every 60s or so. The bit about this
approach is that it bugs me that my AppleScript will have to be
running all the time.
Having my tiny applescript launched only when the track changes would
be best for system performance.
