As per Michelle Steiner, saving the file as 'Run only' will prevent future editing.

However, you can save the code as a script and / or application (without check marking the 'Run only' check box) for future editing; but, then also save a copy as 'Run only' for placement on the Macs of others. This way, the others can not see and / or edit the applet's code; yet, you can edit your (scrip or application) copy if and when needed.

Hi,

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I tried saving the script as both an application, and a script, but every time I go to try to select it in WGM to use it as a login hook, it is gray, and can not be selected. I have tried selecting one that I have saved just as a script, and I can select that one, but when I log in as a networked user to test it, it doesn't run. Any idea what am I missing?

  Thank you,

  Paul
