Scripting Finder window column widths

  • Subject: Scripting Finder window column widths

I got tired of fixing Finder windows after every time it crashes and built a script to fix the column views using my workaround (switch from column to icon back to column).

Anyway, this works really well for me but I thought I may as well build a script that could restore my preferred window setup even after a loss of the Finder preference file. I can not figure out, however, how to script the width setting of the columns themselves. The sidebar width is simply "sidebar width of window..." but there's no listing for column width in the Finder dictionary.

Does anyone have any hints on this subject?
