When diagnosing problems with my QuarkXPress script, whenever it would produce the UI related error and I'd hit OK, Script Editor would unexpectedly quit. This happened both on the studio Macs I was testing and my PowerBook. It made troubleshooting that much longer and fiddly to go through.

Any other app (other than XPress) I have no issues. Could be just our setup tho.

Yes, I'm seeing this on occasion.

I see other examples of misbehavior in Script Editor, too. Sometimes I can't
compile a simple script, such as 'tell application "System
Preferences"/end', because I get an error message saying "The application is
not running" -- when in fact it is. And other problems too numerous to
remember.

My instinct is that these issues relate to problems with launch services,
not with Script Editor. However, Script Debugger seems to work fine.
