I don't use Word, nor am I about to start. Not something I would care about. If you tell me I would find it lame, then I'll believe you until I get in a situation where I have to script it.
>TextWrangler (version 2.1.1)
Only recently did I download a copy of that and I haven't done much more than a cursory peek at it. I use Tex-Edit Plus or AlphaX for text editing. The former when I need scriptability; the latter when I don't.

Excuse me? No, I wanted to show some new people how to do some scripting in a text editor. I had hoped I'd be able to go with the default install of OS X, but apparently not. It didn't take long to sort out how it "worked" (TextEdit), but I'm certainly disappointed that it turns out to behave like it does. It will now stand as a text editor to demonstrate the poorer implementation.
>BTW2, Tex-Edit Plus (version 4.9.6) does work as you expect with your script.
I know. Been using Tex-Edit Plus for years.

What turnip truck did you just fall off of? Did I ask anyone to do anything for me? No. Show me where I asked, or even implied, that I wanted someone to "do work"? I asked a rhetorical question, knowing full well the answer. Just between you and me, I didn't actually need any help. I've been scripting for several days now and have it quite sorted out.
