And I'm sure that complaint has been around for a long, long time. Yes, the
list has its moods and swings. But the fact that it has people with
different skill levels and backgrounds, combined with regular new faces, is
one of its great virtues. Apart from anything else, it's quite possible to
be an old hand in several aspects of AS and a complete novice in others;
that's partly the nature of the beast.
It seems to me that the list is quite capable of simultaneous handling
threads operating at totally different levels. And given the size of the
community, splitting it would probably be very unproductive.
I can't believe anyone can survive in AppleScript for any length of time
without a healthy dose of pragmatism. Heck, I used GUI scripting once. But
if someone offers a solution we don't like, for whatever reason, there's no
rule that says we can't just amicably decline it.
