AppDirectoryContents

Using 'path to me' intended for use in an application but executed in ScriptEditor I have saved a text file into the same directory as the 'Contents' folder of the SE app. When I contextually show the contents of the applicationĀ I can see the file in there but on 'Show Contents' and backup to view the 'Contents' folder itself in column view, my file is invisible. I realize I can do some Terminal stuff to remove the file or just re-install theĀ application but am more curious as to how the file being made invisible in that directory?
