sorry if i misunderstood your thread but writing BOM for UTF-8 is at
least unuseful or might create prob.
It's not true that it's unuseful - it clearly marks the file as being
encoded in UTF-8.
then the BOM for UTF-8 isn't the same as UT-16 one, for files having the
same indianness ???
