I won't comment about the trash anymore because Paul and Mark already

If I could have done, I would have done. As I said earlier that was from
a situation I had in May 2006. But I thought a bit about som "artifical
situation" where the constraints are needed. If I remember correctly,
this situation is almost the one I had at that time.
The original file "foo" resides on a read-only medium, so renaming isn't
possible.
The target file "bar" resides in an application's directory where I am
not allowed to put any file but "bar". Simply because I don't know which
files are used now or in the future by that application and because I
want to be safe.
But it could also be that the target folder is some "Hot folder" taking
away anything appearing in there.
