iCal calling AppleScript times out

  • Subject: iCal calling AppleScript times out

Hi people,

I've written an AppleScript which does some cleanups on my FTP server.

The script can take a few minutes to finish. It runs fine from Script Editor every time, but often fails when triggered from iCal with 'an applescript event alarm did not execute properly'.

I'm thinking iCal is timing out. Is there a way to increase the timeout? Other thoughts are having a 'launcher' script which then calls the cleanup script in the background and exits, or using launchd...?

Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

OS X 10.4.9, PPC.
