Yeah, launchd might be one cause for the conflicting claims about Tiger
needing/not needing anacron. There might be differences between systems that
are clean installs of Tiger, and ones that were upgraded from a previous OS X
version and therefore perhaps still have some 'crontab left-overs'. Or
perhaps the Tiger installer writes differing default settings for launchd,
depending on whether it updates an older OS, or does a clean install.
