Actually, if cron were replaced by launchd, then I would
want Apple to change 'crontab -e' such that it displayed
a normal crontab, but wrote out a launchd contab.plist to
~/Library/LaunchAgents so that it was totally transparent.
It should probably also merge any existing crontab and
crontab.plist, and remove the crontab at write time. Of
course, it would be nice if the editor displayed a comment
line that indicated launchd was doing the work. And all
the man pages should reflect what's really going on.
The crontab.plist (and only the crontab.plist) would only
allow the subset of keys that is compatible with cron.

That would satisfy me. Am I getting off topic? Sorry.
