Hiding a compiled script

Is there some method (code or not) to
run an compiled script .app without his being visible on the dock? I am
running some utilities on login and would prefer that my users do not freak
out.I tried checking the 'hide' box on WGM
(workgroup manager) but that did not stop the icon from showing up on the
task bar.Thanks,
