You haven't said which version of FileMaker Pro you are using.
FMP 9.x
I haven't tried this myself and I don't have FMP with me. Have you thought of using the web viewer control within FMP with a "file:///..." URL stored (or calculated) in FMP? Or is there something specific to Preview that is more helpful to you? This came to me when I was thinking you could have used Safari instead of Preview, and then realised you can do a web viewer in FMP.
Hmm - I had'nt noticed THAT specific feature of FMP.
It certainly has the advantage over the Preview solution (BTW - The script works great - thanx Gary ;-) that it IS integrated within FMP.
- And since all the images my db will have to display is stored on a server it'll be easy to dedicate a virtual host to share the images via Apache.
BUT:
The Preview solution still have one advantage that once the file is opened all the tools Preview offers are available (mainly zoom). FMP's web view "only" allows to pan within the image.
Thanx for the great tip though - now I have to working solutions ;-)
