As a wannabee programmer who never got into programming, I'm grateful
to be getting this much attention for my AS question--thank you all. I
keep experimenting with the sample code that's being suggested, and
I'm learning oodles.
Here's my current state-of-mind:
Rather than
insert text
format all text
can AS work with TE (or any text editor) to randomly format the text
characters *as they're typed*, or is that too low-level for AS to
connect with? That would allow for repositioning of the I-beam and
making changes, otherwise any newly inserted text would have a single
font face decided by the I-beam location.
One last item--in my scenario, spaces don't need to be re-formatted,
so there's the possibility of an insignificant amount of time savings
there. :-j
