I'm not sure if this is entirely an AppleScript problem. On my setup
(10.5.2), if I put a new icon called "custom.icns" in the Resources
folder and then change the line in the Info.plist to read:
<key>CFBundleIconFile</key>
<string>custom</string>
the Finder does not recognize the change until I've actually copied
the app to another folder and then only the copy shows the icon.
But for the AppleScript portion, if I now open my custom icon
application bundle with Script Editor and then "Save As…" with a new
name, then the custom icon is lost. This is clearly a sin of omission
on Script Editor's part.
