So, i want to learn how to use appleScript for my daily usage of my computer. I checked the web for tutorials and the nearest that came across was the Introduction to AppleScript Studio Programming Guide that's on the developer section of the apple. The problem is that as it says din the programming guide and i quote
"This document assumes that you have some familiarity with AppleScript and know how to write and execute scripts.
Previous experience building applications with an integrated development environment is also recommended—familiarity with Xcode and Interface Builder is especially useful.
Previous experience with Cocoa is not required, but can be helpful in understanding some of AppleScript Studio's underlying mechanisms "
I don't have any of these. Is there any other tutorial, book online, etc i could use to start learning appleScript
Hi Gianpaolo,
The document you've been looking at is for developing OS X applications with Xcode using a variant of the AppleScript language. For normal use, which I think is what you would like to get started with, Apple has some documents:
<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppleScript/Conceptual/AppleScriptLangGuide/introduction/ASLR_intro.html>
<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppleScript/Conceptual/AppleScriptX/AppleScriptX.pdf>
For a third party book, the consensus seems to be: <http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0596102119>.
