>From the window's title bar, it appears that that script has been saved as
.applescript. That means you saved it as a Text file. Therefore it must be
an encoding thing - I haven't read up on this but perhaps it was previously
encoded in MacRoman and is now assumed to be Unicode, so everything is
wrong.
Most people save their scripts as .scpt - compiled Scripts, or as
applications, which nowadays means as bundles.
How is it you have it saved as an .applescript (as Text)?
