Actually, that's exactly the myth I was trying to dispel. The only
important measurement on the web is the number of pixels. The
"resolution", ie whether tagged as 72 or 300dpi, is irrelevant. The
size of the image on screen is taken from the width/height attributes
of the <img> tag, or if none are present, from the width/height of the
image. To illustrate, I've posted a page at
http://homepage.mac.com/tlm/images/resolution.html
where you can see that using a "72dpi" image or "300dpi" image makes
no difference when the dimensions in pixels are the same.
I do understand that placement into a page layout package is
different, because the resolution affects how large the image is
*initially* placed onto the page. However, decent layout artists
understand that, again, it's the pixel count that matters, and they
resize images accordingly.
