If there is something on that backup disk you care about you better back it up first.
Especially if you are going to delete something with gui scripting. It isn't that hard at all to have something
go wrong in a script, gui scripting consists of lots of trials and errors; that is a least my experience, I loathe it!
(Unless unavoidable (misuse of Douglas Adams). Do not expect your backup to be like you expected it to be
after you have experimented with gui scripting to delete stuff in it. Take a backup!
