Invisible Unix "Icon" File

  • Subject: Invisible Unix "Icon" File

I just got a strange error message from a script thats been working correctly for a very long time. The error message mentioned an "Icon" file, so I looked for an invisible "Icon" file in the offending folder and removed it. Now the script works correctly. I'll see if I can fix the code later, meanwhile ...

Does anyone know any details about a file that's ...
1. Invisible
2. Named "Icon"
3. Kind is either 'Finder.app Document' or 'Unix Executable File'.

Where do they come from and what do they do?
