Dock Preferences in Lion

  • Subject: Dock Preferences in Lion

I think we've had this discussion before, some years ago, I think when Leopard replaced Tiger.

In Tiger, if a folder was added to the Dock as a menu and contained alias files to folders, then the alias was followed into the folder causing a confusing and overly complicated display. (If I remember correctly)

In (Snow) Leopard, this did not happen.

Yesterday, I changed some code to construct such a Dock menu in Lion with alias files pointing to folders.
It worked correctly ... then, surprise!

In Lion ... it's baaack!

Perhaps there is a way to use the 'defaults' command to change this. (I hope)
Does anyone know?
