Even if the contextual menu plug-in is 64 bit, the applications will not load it. Almost all, if not all Apple applications shipping with Snow Leopard run 64 bit by default, including Finder, so your contextual menu plugins will not work.....

Yes Michelle, you still have contextual menus in 64-bit applications, me too, and everybody, who runs Apple's software with snow leo.
But: Until Leopard, a user had the possibility to add PLUGINS for the contextual menu system, by merely dropping them into the contextual menu folder either in "/Library" or "~Library". This is not anymore possible for Apple's Software (they mostly are 64 bit) coming with Snow Leo, even if the plugins would run at 64 bits. Why?? Well, afaik because Apple prefers shifting to services.... _______________________________________________
